Applications for the 2021 season are not being accepted and will not re-open. We have limited dates remaining for 2022. We begin taking applications for the 2023 season after Labor Day.

Face masks are required on NPS-administered lands where physical distancing cannot be maintained and in all NPS buildings and facilities. Park operations vary based on local public health conditions.
Interim Guidance for Fully Vaccinated People: May 13, 2021:
If you are fully vaccinated, you can resume activities that you did prior to the pandemic.
Fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance. We will never ask you for your vaccination status. Please read the criteria and self determine your status.
In general, people are considered fully vaccinated: ±
• 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
• 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine
If you don’t meet these requirements, regardless of your age, you are not fully vaccinated. Keep taking all precautions until you are fully vaccinated.
Located within Gateway National Recreation Area's Sandy Hook Unit, this historic Chapel was originally built in 1941 and used by the U.S. Army in Fort Hancock. Now restored, the National Park Service leases this beautiful venue for weddings, family gatherings, memorials, meetings and other special events.
The Sandy Hook Chapel is open April through October each year.
Bookings tend to fill up a year to a year in a half in advance.

An application with the $50 non-refundable application fee must be submitted and approved to tentatively hold a date for 10 business days.
A non-refundable booking deposit is required to permanently hold a date.
